FC Barcelona Ready for First Fixture at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees can be present as per the current authorization. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. Officials confirmed finished work included an updated entryway for the team and new dressing rooms.

Preparatory Events

Barcelona held an open training session on the home pitch earlier this month. They mentioned approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game against Eintracht Frankfurt in December in the renovated venue. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
